A Little About Brian
Not your average wedding photographer

Hiring a wedding photographer is more than just deciding whether or not you like someone’s work and if you can afford them. It’s crucial to work with someone you genuinely enjoy being around. The truth is, not everyone is a great fit and there’s nothing wrong with that! People have different personalities, objectives, interests, and characteristics.
So here’s a brief look at who I am. If you’d like to meet in person to talk more about your wedding, how I work, or just to find out more about me, I’m always free to get together with prospective clients for coffee, a meal, or some beers.
I started taking pictures casually with a film camera when I was about 15. Around that time, I was blessed with the opportunity to visit Peru twice (once for 2 weeks and again for 6 weeks). While they were relatively short trips, I truly believe they transformed me. I matured spiritually and discovered a love for documenting. Over the next few years, I spent time learning more about the craft and the technical aspects of photography.
I shot my first wedding in 2007 after learning and working for about a year with Matt Adcock of Del Sol Photography.
This is my 6th year shooting weddings and over those years, I’ve had the privilege of shooting all over Georgia, in Maryland, Alabama, and South Carolina.
In 2011, I was accepted into the WPJA and AG|WPJA.
My stylistic roots in wedding photography are photojournalism but I also will also get the details of your day and take time to create art- which usually involves some direction from me.
So how about when I’m not shooting weddings? Here’s a more personal look at who I am.
I homebrew beer and am kind of a beer geek.
I roast my own coffee beans. It’s surprisingly easy and makes for an incredibly fresh cup of coffee.
I like tea. A lot. In particular I love Chinese Blacks and Taiwanese Oolongs.
I love to cook and to read about cooking. On Food and Cooking is probably my favorite food book. I’m a big fan of Alton Brown and Anthony Bourdain.
I am a big fan of technology and have always loved computers and the Internet. I’m fascinated with web design and development. I love messing with my website and the code behind it. I don’t really know PHP but I like figuring things out on my own.
I spend a little too much time on Reddit.
My all time favorite TV series are Seinfeld and Scrubs. Eeeeeeeeeagle!
Current shows my wife and I are watching are The Office, Parks and Rec, Portlandia, The Layover (Anthony Bourdain), New Girl (yeah, yeah I like it), and Once.
Currently reading God in a Cup: The Obsessive Quest for the Perfect Coffee, Uncommon Grounds: The History of Coffee and How It Transformed Our World, and Prosper.
